Dutch battlecruisers 1940 (final design)

Name A B C

Status Plan not carried due to the involvement of Holland in the Second World War. Plan was not rediscussed after the war, as this type had proven to be obsolute during the second world war, and the membership of the NATO made such a strong rearmament unnecessary. * As far as I can tell, the decision about which type of turbine to use (Parsons or Germania) had not yet been made in May 1940. It seems to me the Dutch would have chosen the Parsons type, and for two reasons: first, the Dutch questioned the reliability of the German machinery because of the little room it took in comparison. Second, the Dutch had far more experience with the Parsons.
